SQL

SQL is one of the three tabs in the area below the canvas. It queries the model you have open with real SQL — joins, aggregates, JSON functions — and answers questions the canvas cannot: which entities have no attributes, which custom property is set nowhere, how many relations each group carries.

Open it with Panels in the status bar, then the SQL tab.

Read-only, by construction

The model is projected into a read-only database in your browser. Writes are rejected, so there is no query you can type here that damages a model. Nothing leaves the browser.

Writing a query

Write a SELECT and press Run (Ctrl+Enter). The editor has syntax highlighting and completes table and column names as you type, so you rarely need to look the schema up — and when you do, Tables lists it beside the editor.

The stale badge

The projection is built when you open the tab, not on every keystroke. Change the model and the panel says so: Model changed — results may be outdated. One click on Refresh rebuilds it. The badge exists because a silently stale result is worse than no result — you would read it as an answer about the model in front of you.
